Dr. Sarah Bason

  • AzVMA
  • AVMA
  • Graduate of Washington State University

Dr. Bason was born in Scottsdale, Arizona and moved to Prescott in 1999, graduating from Prescott High School in 2002. She attended Yavapai College for her Associate's degree and Northern Arizona University for her Bachelor's degree.

During her time in Prescott, Dr. Bason worked as a Kennel Assistant and then Veterinary Technician for Granite Mountain Veterinary Hospital, then owned by Dr. Szekely. She moved to Pullman, Washington to attend Veterinary School at Washington State University, but quickly made her way back to Northern Arizona.

She had always kept in touch with Dr. Szekely, and when the time came for him to retire, he reached out to see if she had an interest in buying the clinic where she had started her veterinary career. She had always dreamed of purchasing the clinic and had a great potential partner and close friend in Dr. Siens. The two of them decided to take the leap and took ownership of the hospital in September of 2020.

Professional interests

Soft tissue surgery (particularly reconstructive and urinary surgery), geriatric care, and dentistry.

Outside the clinic

Dr. Bason enjoys reading, writing, and spending time with her family, including her fiancé Justin, children Greyson and Maeva, and dogs Buttercup, Nessie, Sergeant, Onyx, and Ebony. The clinic is very much a family project, so if you hear a ruckus coming from the back office, it's likely that Greyson and Maeva are visiting their mom at work.

Dr. Katherine Siens

  • AzVMA
  • AVMA
  • USDA-accredited
  • Graduate of Ross University

Dr. Siens graduated from Ross University Veterinary School in 2014 and started practicing in the quad cities area six years ago, when she and her husband moved from Oregon looking to be closer to family and warmer weather.

Since starting her career, Dr. Siens has been working hard in her community and professional roles, but found herself lacking the time to nurture herself and her family. As her professional development continued to grow, she suddenly found herself taking on two exciting new roles: motherhood and business ownership.

As she watches her son grow like a weed, she has noted a new appreciation for quality of life. This is a facet of veterinary medicine she would like to provide for staff, community, patients, and self. Dr. Siens' goal is to build a practice family that takes care of themselves so they can take the best care of your furry, scaly, or feathered family member.

Professional interests

Behavior, public health, and staff wellness.

Outside the clinic

Dr. Siens lives on a small farm in Chino Valley with her husband, son Mason, chickens (Don Diego and his harem), goats (Fitz, Phil, and Tommy), barn cat (Stewie), and three dogs (Belle, Cinderella, and Rip). Dr. Siens, her husband, and Mason enjoy camping and exploring in the National Forests of Northern Arizona.
